It’s becoming Buffalo lore at this point.
Belgium-based business software corporation Odoo chose Buffalo as the location of its East Coast operations hub in 2020 after considering cities across the Northeast, Midwest and mid-Atlantic.
Two years later and Odoo already has more than 100 employees at its local home base, Seneca One Tower.
It’s not even close to done.
Odoo plans this year to double its Buffalo headcount, a reflection of its success in recruiting Western New Yorkers and of the overall growth of its business. The company will take up a second whole floor at Seneca One, becoming the second-largest tenant in that building after M&T Bank.
And it is beginning to focus on building out a technical team after its initial teams were in customer service, business and sales.
Buffalo native Nicholas Kosinski, director of U.S. East, helped to steer the company to his hometown two years ago, and he said the decision is paying off in many ways.
“We’re finding really smart people here who are eager to break into the industry and make their mark,” he told Business First in January. “All of our theories about moving into Buffalo are turning out better in practice.”
